Ghana Link Assures Stakeholders of Major ICUMS Upgrade to Address Downtime Concerns
Ghana Link Network Services Ltd, operators of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), has reassured stakeholders that ongoing intermittent downtimes on the trade facilitation platform are being addressed through a major system upgrade.
In a statement, the company acknowledged recent concerns raised by users but stressed that technical teams have already identified the root causes of the disruptions and are implementing corrective measures.
“A major upgrade of the ICUMS infrastructure is currently underway, designed to expand the system’s capacity and resilience to handle the exponential surge in data traffic that comes with Ghana’s growing trade volumes,” Ghana Link stated.
The company disclosed that it is working closely with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to secure a more stable internet backbone for the platform, with the aim of ensuring smoother, faster and uninterrupted services for importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and shipping lines.
According to Ghana Link, the ongoing enhancements are expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2025. Once finalised, the upgrades are projected to significantly improve ICUMS performance, eliminating recurring disruptions and boosting efficiency.
“We humbly appeal to our cherished stakeholders to continue to bear with us during this crucial period. Your confidence in ICUMS has been the bedrock of its success, and with these upgrades, we are confident that the system will deliver a solid, stable and fast user experience with reliability, efficiency, and transparency,” the company added.
Ghana Link reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a world-class trade facilitation system that enhances government revenue mobilisation and supports economic growth.
