Ghana Link Network Services Wins “Indigenous Company of the Year” at Ghana Business Awards
Ghana Link Network Services has been named Indigenous Company of the Year at the seventh Ghana Business Awards, highlighting its transformative role in customs management across Ghana’s entry points.
The accolade, conferred in recognition of the company’s successful rollout of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), underscores Ghana Link’s impact on streamlining trade processes and increasing government revenue from land, air, and sea borders.
Implemented by Ghana Link, ICUMS has proven essential in connecting over 8,000 stakeholders within Ghana’s trade facilitation ecosystem. The system integrates freight forwarders, shippers, regulatory bodies, and a network of governmental agencies—including the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority and the Environmental Protection Agency—onto a single platform that streamlines processes.
According to industry insiders, ICUMS has not only simplified the previously cumbersome customs workflow but has also significantly reduced processing times at Ghana’s ports, thereby enhancing ease of business for the country’s importers and exporters.
Its success has led many in Ghana’s trading community to laud ICUMS as a model of trade facilitation technology, enabling an unprecedented level of operational efficiency.
In addition to the company’s award, Ghana Link’s Chief Technology Officer, Prince Kwabena Ansah, was also honoured with the Industry Leadership Award for his immense contribution in the creation and implementation of ICMUS.
Notably, the Group Chairman of Ghana Link, Dr. Nick Danso Adjei, was also awarded Entrepreneur of the Year for his strategic leadership across Ghana Link and other ventures, further emphasizing the group’s influence on Ghana’s economic and technological landscapes.
