Ghana Stock Exchange Closes Flat as Trading Volume Surges
The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) closed the day’s session with no price movements, keeping the overall market capitalization steady at GHS 127.40 billion.
Trading activity saw a significant surge, with the volume of shares traded rising by 463.64% to 11,607,407 shares, amounting to a total trade value of GHS 33,330,461.25.
MTN Ghana (MTNGH) led market activity, accounting for 11,489,131 shares valued at GHS 33,212,144.63.
Other actively traded stocks included Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), GCB Bank (GCB), Republic Bank Ghana (RBGH), and CalBank (CAL) in that order.
Meanwhile, the GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) remained unchanged at 5,622.92 points, maintaining its 15.02% year-to-date (YTD) return.
Similarly, the GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) held steady at 2,809.97 points, with an 18.03% YTD return.
