Ghana’s Qualification To AFCON 2025 Hopes Revived by Niger’s Stunning Victory Over Sudan
Niger’s dominant 4-0 victory over Sudan on Thursday in Togo has rekindled Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Niger’s forward Daniel Sosah, with Ghanaian heritage, scored two goals, while Ousseini Badamassi and Youssef Oumarou contributed to the rout, leaving Group F wide open for a dramatic finish.
Angola has already secured their spot, but Niger’s win keeps Sudan, Ghana, and Niger in contention for the remaining qualification berth.
Sudan holds the upper hand, needing just a point against Angola in their final match to qualify. Ghana, however, must win their next two games against Angola and Niger while also hoping for an Angola victory over Sudan.
Niger can also clinch a place by defeating Ghana and relying on Sudan’s loss.
Ghana will face Angola at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda, with kickoff set for 7 PM local time.
