Government Urges Swift Conclusion of 2025 Minimum Wage Negotiations
The government has called on its social partners—employers and organised labour—to expedite negotiations on the 2025 Minimum Wage, stressing the need for a timely resolution.
Discussions on the new wage structure commenced on February 3, 2025, under the National Tripartite Committee, which includes representatives from the government, employers, and organised labour.
According to a statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP and Acting Presidential Spokesperson, negotiations on base pay for public sector salaries will follow the conclusion of minimum wage talks.
The process is expected to be finalised by April 2024 in line with the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act.
The swift resolution of wage negotiations is seen as crucial in providing clarity for both employers and workers while ensuring compliance with fiscal planning and budgetary frameworks.
