GPCC leadership commiserates with Apostle Sam Korankye Ankrah over death of In-Laws
The leadership of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) on Monday, September 11, 2023, visited Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah, his wife, and family to commiserate with them on the painful loss of his mother and father-in-law.
The leadership of the GPCC were present at the residence of the Apostle General to comfort him and his family.
The parents of the wife of Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah died a month ago.
The delegation which was led by the President of the Council, Apostle Eric Nyamekye who doubles as the chairman of the Church of Pentecost offered prayers and words of encouragement to the bereaved family.
“Although death is a certainty of life, its timing, whether sooner or later, always leaves in its trail a crisis for a family. The loss of a loved one can cut deep through the heart of a family. This can make visible demands on the family, thus, causing deep sorrow and pain. However, such difficult situations can be soothed by scriptural words of empathy,” stated Apostle Eric Nyamekye.
He assured the family of Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah of continuous support from the Council and urged the family to remain steadfast in their faith in God in these hard and trying times.
Apostle General Sam Korankye in his speech, was grateful to the leadership of the GPCC for taking time off their busy schedules to mourn with his family.
He was very emphatic about the exemplary lives the deceased couple lived and how they blessed his life and that of his wife and family, indicating that they were devoted Christians and members of the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Parish as well as RoyalHouse Chapel.
The funeral for the deceased In-Laws of Apostle General Sam Korankye will be a demonstration of the love and faithfulness they showed to one another over the 63-year period they were married.
The wake keeping will be on Thursday, 5th October 2023 at the RoyalHouse Chapel, Oil Dome.
On Friday, 6th October 2023, there will also be a service at the couples’ resident church, Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Parish. On that same day, there will be sitting and refreshments at the RoyalHouse Chapel, Oil Dome.
In a move to honor the lifelong wish of his father-in-law, his body will be sent to Akrokerri, Obuasi in the Ashanti Region for burial while the mother-in-law will be buried at the Osu Cemetery in Accra on Saturday, 7th October 2023.
Thanksgiving Service will be at the RoyalHouse Chapel, Oil Dome on Sunday, October 8th, 2023.
In showing solidarity with the family, the President, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, First Vice President, Right Reverend Dr Gordon Kisseih (Presiding Bishop of Life International Church), and the Secretary, Apostle Immanuel Nii Okuley Tettey, Director of Administration of The Apostolic Church-Ghana signed the book of condolences on behalf of the Council.
The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) is the largest ecumenical body of churches in the country. It was established in 1969 by the four main Pentecostal churches: The Assemblies of God, the Christ Apostolic Church, The Apostolic Church-Ghana, and The Church of Pentecost.
It was established to pursue the unity of the body of Christ, to propagate the gospel, and to meet the spiritual and socio-economic needs of its members and Ghanaians in general.
