GPL: Accra Lions Roar to 3-1 Victory Over Nsoatreman FC

Accra Lions celebrated their inaugural win of the Premier League season with a commanding 3-1 triumph over Nsoatreman FC on matchday. The Lions struck early, with Salman Faris Tahiru netting a brilliant goal in the 10th minute, followed by Ezekiel Kwame Alladoh, who doubled the lead just seven minutes later.

Despite the Lions’ strong start, Stephen Diyou managed to pull one back for the visitors just three minutes into the second half. However, the Most Valuable Player, Blessing Assuman Dankwah, restored the two-goal advantage with a decisive strike in the 67th minute, sealing the victory for Accra Lions at the University of Ghana Stadium.

This win marks a significant turnaround for the Lions, who had faced two defeats and a draw in their first three matches of the season. 

Meanwhile, Nsoatreman FC, coming off their exit from the 2024-25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, experienced their first defeat of the current league campaign.

As matchday 4 of the Premier League wraps up, eight additional matches are scheduled across the country on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
