GPL: Daniel Afriyie Barnieh rejects Hearts of Oak’s contract extension offer
Hearts of Oak have had their latest contract extension offer to Daniel Afriyie Barnieh rejected and set to present an improved one in the coming days, per reports in the local media.
The 21 year old has been sensational for the ‘Phobians’ and was undoubtedly their best player in the recently ended season.
The lanky forward netted 8 goals, and provided 3 assists in 26 matches in the league, including with one coming in the FA Cup final against Bechem United in Kumasi.
The latest reports coming in is that, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, has rejected Hearts of Oak’s contract extension offer of GHC12,000 salary, and reports states he is in talks to join Viking FK in the Norwegian topflight.
However, Hearts of Oak are also not ready to give up anytime soon and are preparing an improved offer of GHC15,000 per month offer, which they strongly believe will get the player to sign.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is currently with the Black Galaxies in Austria for a four nation tournament, of which he scored in their 2-1 defeat to Qatar last Tuesday and will respond to various reports once the team arrives in Ghana.
