GPL: Eleven Wonders, WAFA and Elmina Skarks relegated to Division One

Techiman Eleven Wonders, WAFA and Elmina Sharks were the biggest losers as the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League came to an end over the weekend.

A statement win for Real Tamale United against Hearts of Oak ensured Ghana Premier League survival after they beat the Phobians 4-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Hearts finish the league season outside of the top four, but have a trophy to fight for next week when they face Bechem United in the MTN FA Cup final.

Eleven Wonders left no stone unturned as they beat regional rivals Aduana Stars at home by 2-1.  However that couldn’t secure them a place in the Premier League  next season as RTU won hence the Techiman-based club have been relegated.

Sogakope based, WAFA’s relegation was also confirmed on Sunday with a 1-0 loss to Karela United, who finished the season in fourth place.

WAFA’s exit from the top division means the Volta and Oti regions will not see Premier league action as they were the last side after Kpando Hearts of Lions to stay up in the league.  .
