GPL: Hearts of Oak Triumphs Over Legon Cities in Capital Derby Clash

In a thrilling encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on January 3, 2025, Hearts of Oak secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Legon Cities, compounding the latter’s struggles in this season’s Premier League.

The match, a highly anticipated capital derby, showcased the resilience and determination of the Phobians, as they fought hard to climb the league table.

The decisive moment came in the first half when Ahmed Ramzy Yussif found the back of the net, turning the tide in favor of Hearts of Oak. His clinical strike not only delighted the home fans but also left Legon Cities grappling with the reality of their position at the bottom of the league standings.

This victory propelled Hearts of Oak to second place with a total of 28 points from 16 matches, solidifying their status as title contenders.

Meanwhile, Legon Cities remains in a precarious position, languishing at the bottom with just 11 points in what has been a challenging campaign for the Royals.
