GPL: Kotoko, Medeama Ends In A Pulsating Draw; Dreams Return To Winning Ways
The Ghana Premier League delivered another weekend full of excitement as teams battled for crucial points in Match Day 16 on Sunday, December 5, 2025.
Asante Kotoko SC faced off against Medeama SC in a gripping encounter at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa. The game ended in a 1-1 stalemate, with Kotoko’s Kwame Poku scoring his second consecutive goal in the 43rd minute, putting the Porcupine Warriors ahead.
However, Medeama’s Kamaradini Mamudu leveled the score after a clever assist from Prince Owusu in the second half, securing a share of the points. Following this match, Kotoko sits fifth in the league with 28 points, while Medeama is in seventh place with 25 points.
Nations FC produced a stunning performance, rising to third place on the table after a commanding 3-1 victory against Basake Holy Stars. Captain Razak Simpson opened the scoring early in the seventh minute, followed by winger Faisal Charwatey’s goal shortly after halftime.
Although Emmanuel Agyei managed to pull one back for Holy Stars, Nations’ Emmanuel Annor sealed their victory in the 87th minute, lifting them to 29 points from 16 games.
Bechem United continued their impressive form with a resounding 3-0 win over league leaders Heart of Lions at Nana Gyeabour Park. Dalvin Yeboah started the scoring just before halftime, and Emmanuel Abban’s brace in the second half ensured a dominant display. This victory pushed Bechem United up to fourth place in the standings with 29 points, just one point behind the leaders.
Other notable matches included Young Apostles FC’s crucial 2-0 home win against Karela United, with Samuel Prempeh and Emmanuel Fosu securing the goals that lifted them to 12th place. Vision FC also celebrated a 1-0 victory over Nsoatreman FC, while FC Samartex 1996 edged Aduana FC with a late goal from Solomon Agyei.
Finally, Dreams FC managed to secure only their third victory of the season, defeating Accra Lions 1-0 thanks to Kelvin Ahiable’s goal in the 71st minute, propelling them out of the relegation zone.
