GPL Matchweek 10 Wrap: Kotoko pip WAFA, Aduana FC and King Faisal lose

On Christmas Day, Salim Adams scored late in the game to seal a point for Accra Hearts of Oak at the Dawu Park in a 2-2 thrilling encounter. Daniel Afriyie Barnie gave the Phobians the lead before Ibrahim Issah and Ishmael Dede found the back of the net for the Believers.

King Faisal and Aduana Stars’ quest to keep the Ghana Premier League season very competitive took a bounce on Sunday after both teams lost their games.

King Faisal who had been on a five-game unbeaten run finally tasted defeat at the Bechem Park as an 80th minute strike from Augustine Okrah handed the Hunters all three maximum points.

Tipped by many to be the game of the weekend, Aduana FC also suffered a late 1-0 defeat to Medeama Sporting Club with Ahmed Toure putting the dagger in the hearts of Aduana FC with just two minutes to the end of the game to hand the Ogya boys their first defeat after a seven game winning streak.

Emotions were at stake on Boxing Day as Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum faced off against his former employers WAFA.

Accra Great Olympics saw off competition from Techiman Eleven Wonders even without their top scorer Maxwell Abbey Quaye as they recorded a 2-0 win at home with James Akaminko and Yussif Razak scoring for the Dade Boys.

Stephen Badu’s strike from the penalty spot was enough to seal the win for Berekum Chelsea against AshantiGold on Boxing Day.
