GPL: Mawuli Wayo, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Mohamed Camara Honored in December/January Awards
Hearts of Oak forward Mawuli Wayo, Asante Kotoko head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, and goalkeeper Mohamed Camara have all been awarded for their outstanding performances during the month of December and January in the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season.
Mawuli Wayo Shines as Player of the Month
Mawuli Wayo has been named the Player of the Month for December/January after scoring two crucial goals, which earned Hearts of Oak three vital points against Accra Lions in an away match.
His impressive record includes three goals in seven matches, two NASCO Player of the Match awards, and a total of five league goals, making him the club’s top scorer in all competitions this season. As a reward, Wayo will receive a 42-inch NASCO television set from Electroland Ghana Limited.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum Named Coach of the Month
Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has also been recognized as the NASCO Ghana Premier League Coach of the Month for leading his team through an unbeaten run of six matches, which included five wins and one draw.
Highlights of this impressive streak include a 1-0 victory over rivals Hearts of Oak and a commanding 4-1 win against Vision FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. For his achievements, Coach Ogum will also receive a 42-inch NASCO television set from Electroland Ghana Limited.
Mohamed Camara Wins Goalkeeper of the Month
In addition, goalkeeper Mohamed Camara has been awarded the December/January Goalkeeper of the Month by the Ex-National Goalkeepers Union (NEGO).
His stellar performances contributed to Asante Kotoko’s unbeaten streak, featuring three clean sheets and conceding only three goals in six matches.
Camara’s exceptional display saw him recognized ahead of competitors such as Benjamin Asare and Masawudu Inusah. As a token of appreciation, NEGO will present him with a pair of gloves, a branded towel, water bottles, and a T-shirt.
