GPL: Medeama Thrash Vision FC to Stay at the Top

Medeama Sporting Club asserted their dominance in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) with a resounding 4-0 victory over Vision FC at their home ground in Tarkwa. This win not only showcased their prowess but also ensured they remained at the top of the league standings after two matches.

Returning home following a solid 2-0 away win against Basake, Medeama wasted no time in establishing control over the game. From the opening whistle, they unleashed a barrage of attacks on Vision FC, who had started their season with a respectable draw against former champions Samartex.

The pressure paid off in the 19th minute when Mamudu Kamaradini found the back of the net, igniting the home crowd. Just ten minutes later, Abdul Salam doubled Medeama’s lead, sending them into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

The second half continued in a similar vein, with Medeama dominating possession and dictating the tempo. In the 80th minute, Emmanuel Owusu added a third goal, followed shortly by Nurudeen Abdulai’s strike three minutes later, sealing the emphatic victory.

With this win, Medeama now sits proudly at the top of the table with six points from two matches, having scored six goals and conceded none. The victory also marked an important moment in their head-to-head record against Vision FC, improving their standing after both teams had won one match against each other last season.

As Medeama prepares for their upcoming clash against Karela, the team is filled with confidence and momentum, eyeing a second GPL title. Meanwhile, Vision FC will need to regroup and refocus ahead of their next match against league newcomers Hohoe United.
