Thomas Tuchel Set to Lead England in Quest for 2026 World Cup Glory

In a significant move, Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as England’s new manager, with the clear directive from the Football Association (FA) to secure victory in the 2026 World Cup.

This appointment follows Gareth Southgate’s resignation and aims to bring football home after England’s last major international win in 1966.

Tuchel, who recently parted ways with Bayern Munich, will be supported by his assistant, Anthony Barry. The FA is optimistic that their combined expertise will help the national team overcome recent near-misses, including consecutive losses in European Championship finals.

FA CEO Mark Bullingham stated, “We believe they will give us the best possible chance of winning a major tournament.”

The coaching duo’s previous collaborations at Bayern and Chelsea made them the preferred choice over other candidates, including Pep Guardiola.

Upon his appointment, Tuchel expressed pride in leading the England team and emphasized his commitment to making the supporters proud.
