Greenland Election Results Signal Support for Democracy, Commitment to Economic Growth and Resource Development

Greenlanders voted overwhelmingly for greater self-determination in the March 11 election. GreenMet congratulated the Demokraatit (Democrat) and Naleraq parties for winning 30% and 25% of the vote, respectively.

Both parties support increasing economic ties with the United States, including resource development.

For Greenland, economic independence is critical for achieving lasting sovereignty. Central to this vision is the development of Greenland’s vast critical mineral resources, including rare earth elements, lithium, and cobalt.

Strategic investments in the mining sector are vital for building new infrastructure and becoming economically self-sufficient. GreenMet is committed to leveraging North American partnerships to accelerate the responsible development of these vital resources.

As global demand for resources and critical minerals grows, Greenland’s untapped mineral reserves represent a unique opportunity to generate sustainable economic growth and create long-term financial stability.
