GRIDCo explain power outage in parts of the country on Saturday

Power transmission company, the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), has assigned reasons for the power outage experienced in some parts of the country on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Some parts of the Greater Accra Region, Western/Central Regions as well as the Northern Region, experienced power outages on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Per a release by GRIDCo, the power outage was caused by a faulted equipment on the Takoradi Extension-Winneba transmission line.

This, the company asserts, forced all power generating plants in Aboadze, Bui and Kpong to shutdown.

“Restoration began immediately and supply was restored to all bulk supply points by midnight,” stated GRIDCo.

GRIDco in the press release, assured Ghanaians that it will continue to work towards the provision of a reliable power system for Ghana’s socioeconomic development.
