GSE-CI Closes at 6,100 Points as Market Capitalization Reaches GHS 135 Billion
The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) Composite Index ended the trading session on a positive note, gaining 3.00 points to close at 6,100.08 points, marking a Year-To-Date (YTD) return of 24.78%.
Similarly, the GSE Financial Stock Index rose by 1.11 points, closing at 3,063.24 points with a YTD return of 28.66%.
The overall market capitalization increased by GHS 19.73 million, bringing the total to GHS 135.52 billion.
Market activity saw a significant surge, with the volume of shares traded rising by 130.63% to 853,232 shares. This resulted in a total trade value of GHS 4,440,000.97.
Notable stock movements included gains for GOIL and SIC, which closed at GH¢1.71 and GH¢0.55, respectively. On the other hand, GLD experienced a decline, shedding GH¢6.03 to close at GH¢451.65.
Among the top five most traded stocks, FML led with 820,786 shares valued at GHS 5,786,541.30. Other stocks in the top five traded equities included ETI, MTNGH, CAL, and GLD.
