GSE-CI commences week with 23.92 points dip to close at 3,171 points

The benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange saw a 23.92-point decline to close at 3,171.70, placing its YTD return at 29.78%.

The Financial Stocks Index decreased by 45.14 points to close at 1,996.95 points to peg its YTD loss at -2.71%.

SCB shed off GH¢1.93 against gains recorded between June and September 2023, to end the day at GH¢17.55.

However, there were no gainers on Monday’s trading day. Consequently, market capitalization declined by GH¢260.08 million to close at GH¢74.24 billion.

Overall, 100,179 shares (down 99.86%) valued at GH¢166,318.33 (down 99.82%) were traded, with fourteen (14) stocks in total exchanging hands.

MTNGH led the activity pile on the exchange, trading 80,120 shares worth GH¢112,168.00.

This was followed by ETI, which saw 15,134 shares valued at GH¢2,270.10 trade. The other stocks that made up the top five traded stocks were SCB, ACCESS, and RBGH.
