GSE-CI gains 17.95 points WoW to close at 3,172 points

GSE-CI gains 17.95 points WoW to close at 3,172 points

The GSE-CI stood at 3,172.43 points ending the week 17.95 points higher and delivering a year-to-date gain of 0.77% to investors.

The GSE-FSI also climbed 2.79 points week on week to end the week at 1,910.16 points.

Both indexes recorded weekly returns of 0.57% and 0.15% respectively.

TOTAL recorded its first climb of the year, earning GH¢0.50 to close at GH¢9.50. GGBL continued its rising run from last week to close GH¢0.40 higher at GH¢4.44.

CAL retuned to its year-beginning price of GH¢0.48 with a GH¢0.30 gain. Conversely, SCB lost GH¢0.02 to end the week at GH¢17.53.

Total market capitalization improved marginally, ending the week at GH¢74.42 billion.

The week ended with a slump in total volume traded after 707,196 shares traded compared to 4,929,372 shares
traded last week.

A corresponding decline was observed for total turnover which fell to GH¢1,898,286.89 as against
GH¢7,974,511.20 last week.

MTNGH dominated the market with a traded volume of 408,228 shares, amounting to a value of GH¢571,519.20.

Trades also took place in the finance, manufacturing and distribution sectors, with GGBL, SCB and TOTAL ranking among the top five traded equities for the week.
