GSE-CI inch up on share price gains in SIC, ETI

GSE-CI inch up on share price gains in SIC, ETI

The Accra bourse inched up as the benchmark GSE Composite Index  (GSE-CI) gained 6.58 points on the day to close at 2,686.15 representing a YTD return of -3.70%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also  increased its value as it gained 12.35 points to close trading at 2,200.36 translating into a YTD return of 2.25%.

In the aggregate, twenty (20) equities participated in trading, ending with two gainers and two  decliners.

The two gainers were SIC Insurance Company Ltd.(SIC) as it  gained GH¢0.02 to close at GH¢0.24 representing a YTD gain of 200.00% and Ecobank Transnational Inc. (ETI) as it gained GH¢0.01 to close at  GH¢0.19 representing a YTD gain of 35.71%.

The decliners on the day  were Total Petroleum Ghana PLC. (TOTAL) as it lost GH¢0.02 to close at  GH¢5.00 representing a YTD loss of 0.40% and GCB Bank Ltd.(GCB) as it  also lost GH¢0.03 to close at GH¢5.13 representing a YTD loss of 2.10%.

The bourse closed trading today with its market capitalization at GH¢ 63.78 billion. 

A total of 2,167,075 shares valued at GH¢2,179,915.7 were traded  compared to 185,641 shares valued at GH¢306,539.66 which changed hands yesterday, 5th April, 2022.

Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) recorded the  largest volume of trades on the day as it accounted for 92.94% of the  total value traded.
