GSE Composite Index Hits 7,316 Points as Market Capitalisation Climbs to GH¢1.50bn
The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) Composite Index extended its gains on Monday, closing at 7,316.08 points, translating into a year-to-date (YTD) return of 49.66%.
The GSE Financial Stock Index also advanced to 3,512.32 points, reflecting a 47.53% YTD return.
Market capitalisation edged higher to GH¢1.50 billion despite a sharp slowdown in trading activity. A total of 355,634 shares were exchanged, valued at GH¢1,206,658.33, representing a 48.42% decline compared to the previous session.
Equity gains were recorded in CLYD (GH¢0.12), ETI (GH¢0.81), FML (GH¢4.67), GOIL (GH¢2.35) and MTNGH (GH¢3.76).
MTNGH dominated market turnover, trading 179,750 shares worth GH¢676,595.37. It was followed by FML, SIC, SOGEGH and ETI in terms of activity.
