GSE Composite Index Holds Steady at 7,172.44 points, YTD Return at 46.72%

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) Composite Index extended its stay at 7,172.44 points on Tuesday, recording no change at the close of trading, with its year-to-date (YTD) return maintained at 46.72%.

Similarly, the GSE Financial Stock Index remained flat at 3,444.30 points, with a YTD return of 44.67%.

Total market capitalization stood unchanged at GH¢1.47 billion. Trading activity, however, slowed, as a total of 3,446,051 shares were transacted, marking a 21.94% decline compared to the previous session. The trades amounted to a market turnover of GH¢13,488,097.17.

GLD emerged as the sole price mover, shedding value to close at GH¢400.70.

Market activity was dominated by MTN Ghana (MTNGH), which accounted for the bulk of trades with 3,358,116 shares exchanged at a value of GH¢12,425,089.33. Other actively traded equities included Société Générale Ghana (SOGEGH), SIC Insurance (SIC), CAL Bank (CAL) and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI).
