GSE Fixed Income Market Sees 43.38% Growth as Treasury Bills Dominate Trading

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) Fixed Income Market reported a strong performance in November, with a traded volume of 18.32 billion.

This reflects a 43.38% increase year-on-year and an 11.50% rise compared to the previous month, according to the GSE 2024 November Summary of Market Activities report.

Per the report, year-to-date (YTD) traded volumes on the fixed-income market reached 153.52 billion, marking an impressive 87.97% growth compared to 81.67 billion recorded during the same period in 2023.

For the month of November, Treasury Bills led market activity, accounting for 68.30% of the total traded volume.

Government bonds followed with a contribution of 28.22% and corporate bonds represented the remaining 3.48%.

The robust performance highlights the sustained investor confidence in fixed-income securities, with Treasury Bills continuing to dominate the market.
