GSE: GCB and FanMilk record decline in share prices

Share prices of GCB and FanMilk Plc declined at the end of trading on Friday, November 5, 2021.

Stocks of the two listed firms declined by 2.23 percent and 10 percent to end the week with share prices of Ghs 5.25 pesewas and Ghs 4.05 pesewas respectively.

The two firms begun last week with share prices of Ghs 5.37 pesewas and Ghs 4.50 respectively.

MTNGh emerged as the biggest gainer on the stock market recording a 4.96 percent increase in its share price and posting a year-to-date change of 98.44 percent.

Overall, trading on the stock market for last week, saw MTNGh, GCB and CAL Bank emerge among the top five traded equities in terms of both value and volume traded on the local bourse.

GCB led the pack with volume and value traded of 1,098,268 and Ghs 5,795,899 respectively.

Meanwhile, the benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) improved by 67.27 points to close at 2,931.58 translating into a YTD return of 50.99% despite a decline in trade volumes over the week under review.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) however dipped 3.04 points to close at 2,079.08 translating into a YTD return of 16.62%.

Five equities recorded gains in the week, pushing the market capitalization of the stock market up by GH¢704.14 million to close trading at GH¢64.97 billion.

A total of 2.32 million shares valued at GH¢7.13 million traded, representing a decline of 1.67% in volume traded and an increase of 100.43% in values traded as compared to the previous week.
