GSE: New Gold gains GHS 7.20 in share price

New Gold (GLD) rose in share price at the end of trading activities on Thursday.

The ETF increased by GHS 7.20 in share price to close trading at GHS 188.20 indicating a YTD positive returns of 73.30%.

The ETF emerged the sole gainer on the Accra bourse on Thursday.

A total of 2,761,019 shares were traded across ten (10) counters, these trades cumulated in a turnover of GH¢8,276,534.84. Hence, the GSE’s market capitalization for the day settled at GH¢64.48 billion. 

 Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) emerged as the most traded stock at  the close of trading and accounted for 93.13% of the total volume  traded whilst NewGold (GLD) accounted for 72.35% of the total  value traded.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Stock Exchange’s Composite Index (GSE-CI) did not record any change for the third consecutive day as it closed at  2,461.71 points representing a YTD return of -11.75%.

The GSE  Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also maintained its level to close  at 2,070.46 points, translating into a YTD return of-3.78%.
