GSE: New Gold share price fall by GHS 10 at close of trading on Tuesday

GSE: New Gold share price fall by GHS 10 at close of trading on Tuesday

Share price of Absa-sponsored Exchange Traded Fund (ETF), New Gold declined in value by some GHS10 at the close of trading activity on Tuesday.

Closing stock price of the ETF on Tuesday, was GHS 161, down from the opening stock price of GHS 171.

Despite the decline in share price, the equity as at Tuesday, August 30, had a positive year-to-date returns of 48.25%.

Implying that, since the start of the year, share price of the equity has increased by 48.25%.

 In all, twenty equities traded on Tuesday, ending with five (5) gainers and one (1) decliner.

SOGEGH, ACCESS, EGH, ETI, and TOTAL were the gainers as they gained GH¢0.09, GH¢0.33, GH¢0.26, GH¢0.01, and GH¢0.18 to close  trading at GH¢1.09, GH¢3.63, GH¢6.76, GH¢0.14,and GH¢4.18 respectively.

Market capitalization for the day increased on the back of the gains in five equities to settle at GH¢64.20 billion.

A total of 2,152,477 shares valued at GH¢3,723,873.59 was traded on the  day. Compared with the previous GSE trading day (August 29), Tuesday’s  data shows a 696.33% increase in volume traded as well as a 325.14%  increase in trade turnover.

Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) accounted for 33.54% of the total value traded  and also recorded the largest volumes traded.

Meanwhile, the Accra bourse gained 28.79 points to close trading at 2,501.79 points  SSSSS representing a YTD return of -10.31%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE FSI) also gained 48.46 points to close trading at 2,066.89 points  translating into a YTD return of -3.95%.
