GSE posts -10.41% YTD returns

The GSE-Composite Index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) lost 5.94 points to close trading at 2,498.96 points representing a YTD return of -10.41%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also dropped 7.27 points to close trading at 2,075.11 points translating into a YTD return of -3.57%.

Trading activities on the GSE for Thursday, saw thirteen equities being traded, ending with one gainer and two  decliners.

CAL was the sole gainer as it gained GH¢0.06 to close trading  at GH¢0.80. The decliners were GCB and TOTAL as they lost GH¢0.30  and GH¢0.18 to close trading at GH¢3.70 and GH¢4.00 respectively.

Hence, market capitalization of the GSE, for the day settled at GH¢64.39 billion.

A total of 81,822 shares valued at GH¢193,127.38was traded on the day. Compared with the previous GSE trading day (September 20), Thursday’s data shows a 343.82% increase in volume traded and 556.71% increase in  trade turnover.

Total Energies Ghana (TOTAL) accounted for 39.74% of the total value traded whilst Scancom PLC.  (MTNGH) recorded the most volumes traded.
