GSE: Price of GLD rise to GHS 257 per share as GSE-CI drops to close at 2,460 points

New Gold (GLD) was the only gainer on the equity market as its price advanced by GH¢3.38 to close at GH¢257.88.

GOIL Company Limited (GOIL) was the only decliner as its price fell by GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢1.75.

In all, a total of 66,203 shares were traded among seventeen (17) equities on Wednesday.

On the back of the increase in share price of New Gold, market capitalization of the GSE increased by GH¢130.06 million to close trading at GH¢64.80 billion.

On Wednesday, the Accra Bourse dropped 0.38 points to close trading at 2,460.68 points representing a YTD return of -11.78%.

The GSE-FSI on the other hand did not record any change as it  maintained its level to close at 2,069.89 points, representing a YTD  return of-3.81%. 

Trading session resulted in a turnover of GH¢4,294,380.92  with Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) recording the most trades whilst NewGold (GLD) accounted for 98.04% of the total value traded.
