Hollywood Park Studios to Serve as Broadcast Hub for 2028 LA Olympics
In a significant development for the upcoming 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, Hollywood Park Studios (HPS) has been designated as the International Broadcast Center (IBC). This state-of-the-art facility, set to be built in Inglewood by Rams owner Stan Kroenke, will host international broadcasters during the Games.
Located within the expansive 300-acre Hollywood Park, which is home to the recently opened SoFi Stadium, the studios will initially cater to hundreds of media rights holders from around the globe, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Olympic events.
“LA28 is proud to be the inaugural tenant of this new state-of-the-art studio,” said LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover. “The International Broadcast Center will capture every inspiring moment of the LA28 Games and serve as one of our first fully operational facilities.”
Kroenke, who has envisioned Hollywood Park as “a city within a city,” expressed his excitement about expanding the site’s role in hosting the Olympics. “We are thrilled to host the International Broadcast Center and the global media outlets who will call it home during that summer,” he stated.
Construction of Hollywood Park Studios is set to commence later this month, with the facility expected to play a pivotal role in the Games. SoFi Stadium, financed at a cost of $5.5 billion, will be transformed into the largest Olympic swimming venue in history and will host both the opening and closing ceremonies alongside the iconic LA Memorial Coliseum.
You’re right, but isn’t it better to use this narrow window to pay down the IPP debt? After all, as Ato Forson rightly pointed out, it’s the single biggest fiscal risk to the economy. I believe we should use the windfall to reduce the debt as quickly and significantly as possible.
