SIC emerge sole gainer on local bourse

SIC Insurance Company Ltd. (SIC) continued its recent dominance on the market, being the sole gainer at the close of trading on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, as its price appreciated  by GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢0.12.

SIC at the end of trading session posted a 9.09% gain in its share price translating into a 50% YTD return, closing stock price for the equity was GHS 0.12 from the opening stock price of GHS 0.11.

The equity also emerged the most traded stock in both volume and value traded.

SIC recorded a total volume and value traded of 3,000,000 and GHS 360,000.00 respectively.

0n the back of the share price gain in SIC, the benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) improved with a 0.19 points gain to close at 2,696.22 on the third trading day of the week representing a YTD return of -3.34%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also gained 0.34 points to close trading at 2,118.55translating into a YTD return of -1.55%.

Market capitalization thus increased marginally by GH¢1.96million to close at GH¢63.37 billion representing a YTD decline of 1.74% in 2022.

A total of 3,192,585 shares valued at GH¢725,353.36 were traded in twelve equities (12) compared to 1,844,988 shares valued at GH¢682,217.12 which  changed hands the previous day.

SIC Insurance Company Ltd. (SIC) at close  of market traded the most, accounting for 43.69% and 93.96 % of the total  value and total volume traded respectively.
