FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Black Princesses drawn in Group E with Japan, New Zealand and Austria

The Ghana U20 female side, Black Princesses, have been drawn into a challenging group for the 2024 U20 Women’s World Cup, set to take place in Colombia.

They will compete against formidable opponents Japan, New Zealand, and Austria in Group E.

The Black Princesses are making their seventh consecutive appearance at the tournament, having first debuted in 2010.

Despite this consistent presence, the team has yet to progress beyond the group stage. With Yusif Basigi at the helm, the Black Princesses are determined to break this streak and advance further in the competition this time around.

2018 champions Japan are known for their technical prowess and disciplined play and are expected to be Ghana’s toughest opponent.

New Zealand will also present Ghana with a difficult game as the 2014 quarter-finalists aim to build on experience to go beyond their best result as well as Austria who are determined to impress the rest of the world.
