IES Board Chair Congratulates Prof. Nana Ama Klutse on EPA CEO Appointment

The Board Chair of the Institute for Energy Security (IES), Nafi Chinery, has extended congratulations to Professor Nana Ama Klutse on her appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by President John Mahama.

In a statement, Ms Chinery described the appointment as a testament to Prof. Klutse’s exceptional achievements as a physicist, academic leader, and advocate for climate resilience and environmental sustainability.

“Your leadership as the Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations uniquely positions you to bring transformative leadership to the EPA,” the statement read.

Ms Chinery expressed confidence in Prof. Klutse’s ability to drive Ghana’s environmental agenda forward, citing her extensive expertise in climate science, environmental policy, and sustainable development.

“As a valued member of the IES Board, your contributions have always exemplified excellence, vision, and dedication. We have no doubt that your leadership at the EPA will further enhance Ghana’s global reputation in environmental management and sustainable development,” she added.

The IES Board reaffirmed its full support for Prof. Klutse and expressed optimism about the impact of her tenure at the EPA.
