Interior Minister Closes Land Borders Ahead of Elections
The Ministry of Interior has announced the temporary closure of all land borders in Ghana as part of measures to safeguard the integrity of the country’s elections scheduled for today, December 7.
According to a statement from the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, the border closure is effective immediately and will remain in place until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8.
The Ministry emphasized that the decision aims to create a secure and peaceful environment for the electoral process.
Citizens and travelers have been urged to comply with the directive and cooperate with security agencies tasked with enforcing the directive.
