Invest in the Environment That Fosters Development of Critical Skills for Children – Prof. Gatsi
Dean of the University of Cape Coast Business School, Professor John Gatsi, speaking as the Guest Speaker at the 30th-anniversary celebration of Little Saint School at Abeka in Accra, admonished School Management, Teachers and Parents to work together to create an environment that supports children to skills such as effective learning, self-discovery, critical thinking, data literacy and the ability to avoid giving excuses.
Prof. Gatsi explained that many people are not able to achieve their life dreams because they give excuses. He said that apart from developing critical skills for children, teachers should teach them the values of our society, be empathetic, and show a sense of responsibility towards society.
He said the celebration theme, “Celebrating the Past and Building the Future,” is apt as it guides the development of strategies for investing in the school’s future relevance.
He praised the teachers for their commitment, indicating that some of them have been teaching in the School for more than a decade.
He further said the school is a low-fee community school that should receive continuous support from parents.
