IPMC Chairman Amar Deep Singh Hari Denies Criminal Allegations, Accuses Former Associates of Fraud
Chairman of IPMC and Goldcrest Refinery Ltd, Mr. Amar Deep Singh Hari, has dismissed as false the criminal allegations recently leveled against him, describing them as fabrications orchestrated by individuals he identified as fugitives.
In a statement issued on September 10, 2025, Mr. Hari said the accusations were part of a “cleverly masqueraded” scheme by Ms. Niharika Handa and her son, Mr. Punar Vasu Handa, who he alleged are facing court cases abroad.
He further accused the pair of defrauding both government agencies in Ghana and Goldcrest Refinery of millions of dollars, in collusion with former employees of the company.
“We have submitted a petition backed by positive documentary and pictorial evidence to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) concerning the criminal conduct masterminded by these two individuals,” Mr. Hari said. “I am confident that once the CID completes its investigations, the courts will deliver justice based on truth.”
Mr. Hari, who has lived and worked in Ghana for more than three decades, emphasized his contributions to the country’s business and technology landscape through IPMC, citing job creation, youth empowerment, and support for social causes. He urged both the public and state institutions to remain vigilant against those who, in his words, “exploit Ghana’s openness and goodwill for criminal purposes.”
Reaffirming his confidence in Ghana’s judicial and investigative processes, Mr. Hari stressed that he remains committed to the rule of law and due process.
