Importers and Exporters Association Mourns Victims of Helicopter Crash

The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic military helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, which claimed the lives of two senior government ministers and six others.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Association extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the entire nation, describing the incident as a devastating loss not only to the affected families but to Ghana’s broader development efforts.

“The loss of such dedicated public servants and fellow citizens is not only a personal tragedy to their families but also a national loss, which leaves a void in our collective efforts toward national development,” the statement read.

The Association added that it stands in solidarity with the government and the Ghanaian people during this period of mourning and offered prayers for strength and comfort for the families left behind.

“As an Association, we join all Ghanaians in mourning the souls lost in this tragic incident. May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.”

The tragic crash, which has plunged the nation into mourning, claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, and six others, including top government officials and military personnel.
