Conscious Leadership Must Drive Africa’s Growth, Says Rev. Sagoe

Convener of the CEO’s Breakfast and Networking Meeting, Reverend Justice Sagoe, has underscored the need for business leaders to embrace principles-driven leadership to sustain growth and impact in the country and across Africa.

Speaking at the second edition of the event in Accra, held under the theme “The Rise of the Conscious Leader: Power, Profit, Principles”, Rev. Sagoe argued that leadership devoid of principles risks collapsing businesses and undermining long-term development.

“Power without principles corrupts. Profit without principles misleads, and leadership without principles collapses,” he told an audience of chief executives, board members, and senior executives.

He noted that while profit remains critical to the survival of enterprises, without values and guiding principles, enterprises become “empty,” urging corporate leaders to align commercial success with responsibility and service.

“Markets will fluctuate, competition will intensify, and the pressure to compromise will grow stronger. In those moments, the world will observe whether we bend or stand firm,” Rev. Sagoe stressed.

He described the gathering not merely as another networking event but as a platform for “bold conversations and forging alliances that will shape leadership for generations to come.”
