Jordan Ayew wins Player of the Month award for the second time

Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew has asserted his dominance on the pitch, securing the prestigious Crystal Player of the Month award for February.

This marks his second triumph of the award in the current season, following his earlier win in August.

The talented forward celebrated a significant career milestone over the weekend, marking his 200th appearance for Crystal Palace with a commanding 3-0 victory over Burnley. Ayew showcased not only his experience but also his goal-scoring prowess, contributing a goal and an assist and bringing his total goal contributions for the season to an impressive 10.

This exceptional performance follows Ayew’s memorable goal against Everton at Goodison Park, a feat that earned him a nomination for the prestigious Premier League Goal of the Month award.

Despite facing stiff competition for the Cinch February Player of the Month accolade, Ayew’s consistent excellence on the field made him the standout choice for the award.

Ayew’s outstanding contributions did not go unnoticed, as he earned an impressive 54% of the total votes, solidifying his status as a cherished figure among Crystal Palace supporters.

This recognition adds to Ayew’s growing list of accomplishments, further affirming his impact and influence within the Crystal Palace team.

Ayew, who was part of the Black Stars squad at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, showcased resilience in the face of criticism, scoring two goals and providing an assist despite Ghana’s early exit from the tournament at the group stage.

Under new Palace manager Olivier Grasner, the former Aston Villa forward is determined to continue as an essential player for the Eagles.
