GFA Prez, Minister of Sports visit Black Queens ahead of Olympic Qualifier
After reports emerged that the Black Queens of Ghana were yet to be visited by top officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Ministry of Youth and Sports, the team has welcomed top representatives of the aforementioned bodies.
GFA President Kurt Okraku, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif and Chairperson of the Black Queens Management Committee, Dr. Gifty Oware-Mensah visited the team.
Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team is scheduled to play Zambia in the first of two 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers on Friday, February 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium at 17:00 GMT.
This comes in the wake of reports that had no top official visit the team in the midst of unfair treatment meted to the Black Queens over unpaid bonuses.
Team members are owed $7,500 each accrued from 2024 Women’s AFCON qualification games and the preliminary qualification games for the Paris Olympic Games.
The return leg takes place in Zambia on February 28.
