Karim Zito: “I Will Establish a Clear Philosophy for Asante Kotoko”
Newly appointed Asante Kotoko Technical Director and interim head coach, Karim Zito, has pledged to create a definitive football philosophy for the club, which he believes has been sorely lacking.
This commitment comes as he takes over from Prosper Narteh Ogum, who was released following a disappointing run.
Zito, known for his tactical acumen and deep understanding of the club, aims to implement a structure that will endure beyond his tenure.
“I’m going to develop a philosophy for the club because they don’t have one,” Zito stated during his unveiling. He referenced his successful experience at Dreams FC, where he established a lasting framework that continues to guide the team.
As Kotoko sits fourth in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, six points behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars with just six matches remaining, the pressure is on Zito to deliver results.
His impressive resume includes leading Ghana’s U-20 team to victory in the 2021 AFCON and guiding Dreams FC to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.
