Arsenal Signs Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £5 Million
Arsenal has officially completed the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for a fee of £5 million. The Spanish international joins the Gunners on a three-year deal following a successful loan spell at Bournemouth last season, where he made 35 appearances.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the move, Kepa said, “I’m really, really happy to be here, really excited and looking forward to what is coming. The ambition that is shown in this club, when I talk with Mikel [Arteta] and Inaki [Cana], shows me their desire to win. I think we are so close to winning, and hopefully, together, we can achieve it.”
Kepa, who remains the world’s most expensive goalkeeper after his £71 million move to Chelsea in 2018, will provide competition for fellow Spaniard David Raya at Arsenal. His experience includes winning major trophies such as the Champions League, Europa League, and Club World Cup during his time at Chelsea, alongside a successful loan at Real Madrid where he helped secure La Liga and the Champions League titles.
