Kirin Cup: 18 players report to Black Stars camp for Japan tournament

Eighteen (18) players are currently in Camp in Kobe, Japan for the 2022 Kirin Cup which begins on Friday, June 10, 2022.

This is because some players have been ruled out due to varied reasons including injuries, illness and other personal issue.

Jojo Wollacot, Gideon Mensah, Dennis Odoi, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Joseph Paintsil, Antoine Semenyo are among a host of players absent in Kobe, Japan.

According to the Ghana Football Association, some of the players who were initially part of the 33-man squad for the AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Central African Republic, came into the games with minor injuries after a long season.

The GFA also says some of the players who took part in the qualifying games were not part of the plan for the tournament in Japan as the technical team wanted to give other players the opportunity to play.

Ghana will take on hosts, Japan in the opening match on Friday, June 10.
