236 students graduate from Ghana Insurance College
Some 236 students have graduated from the Ghana Insurance College (GIC).
The graduates were issued Diploma and Advanced Diploma certificates in insurance for successfully completing the 2020/2021 academic year.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Commissioner of Insurance, Dr Justice Ofori, urged the graduates to uphold high ethical standards in the insurance profession.
“We entreat you to conduct your affairs as worthy ambassadors of the College, we implore you to practice the profession with the high ethical standards that have been inculcated in you at the College,” he stated, further asserting that the GIC needs to offer more industry based training and education more than ever before.
Speaking further, he noted that the Commission has taken the initiative to set up an education fund to support the College run its highly subsidized and in some cases fully funded courses for professionals in the country.
Also speaking at the graduation ceremony was Malta High Commissioner to Ghana, Jean Claude Malia, who urged insurance practitioners to exhibit high professionalism to engender trust in the public.
The Ghana Insurance College is mandated to provide education and training in insurance to build efficiency and good governance amongst practitioners.
Among other objectives, it is also to carry out research and disseminate valuable data and information as required by insurance practitioners, students and other interested individuals.
