Milovan Rajevac eyeing another stint with the Black Stars
Former Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac, says he still has a lot to do with Ghana despite being sacked after the disastrous 2021 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
The Serbian was dismissed following Ghana’s abysmal performance at the competition which was hosted in Cameroon, amassing just a point three games; losing to Morocco and Comoros and drawing with Gabon.
After months of being sacked, Rajevac in an interview with Akoma FM says he wouldn’t hesitate to lead the team again should he get another chance.
“I have unfinished business with Black Stars. No one knows what the future holds,” he said.
“Ghana is my second home, so if another opportunity arises for me to come there, I will consider it seriously. Last time I didn’t have enough time to implement everything I wanted, like the first time in Ghana. In order to achieve great targets, time is of the essence.”
In Rajevac’s first spell, he led Ghana to the final of the 2009 African Nations Championship, the final of the 2010 Afcon and to the quarter-final of the 2010 World Cup.
The Serb picked the 2010 squad as the best squad has worked with during his period as head coach of the Black Stars.
“It’s difficult to choose one player because I had the opportunity to work with so many great players, so I prefer to choose the whole team from 2010,” he added.
“Team is more important than the individuals. I’m proud of the unity, mutual support and eagerness we had all together.
