SAA confident of hitting pre-suspension passenger numbers by summer 2023
South African Airways (SAA) says it is confident of regaining its market share of the Ghanaian aviation industry by summer 2023.
“It is expected that Corporate Travel segment will rebound from first Quarter 2022 to augment the current traffic volumes. In view of IATA’s projections and barring Travel restrictions and bans, I am confident that by summer 2023, traffic volumes should be restored to pre- pandemic levels,” Country Manager of SAA, Gloria Wilkinson-Mensah said.
The answer was in response to a question posed by AviationGhana in its new series christened “Aviation 5/5”.

For the next chapter of SAA’s re-start and route re-opening, Madam Gloria Wilkinson-Mensah said the airline will be “Expanding the current network with additional regional and domestic destinations and strengthening airline partnerships to extend our reach on the continent and beyond.”
After over a year of inactivity on the Johannesburg- Accra- Johannesburg route, South African Airways (SAA) took to the skies again and landed at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
The airline has since worked at re-opening old routes and increasing frequencies.
