betPawa GPL: Kotoku Royals sack head coach Seth Ablade

Kotoku Royals have sacked head coach Seth Ablade ahead of the return of the Ghana Premier League after the World Cup break.

After securing top spot in their zone in the Division One League last season, the Oda based club has had a rocky start to life in the top flight and management of the club have decided to seek a new technical direction.

Kotoku Royals were up and running in their first game at the highest level of club football in the country.after they beat Accra Lions 1-0 on Matchday One. The draw against Nsoatreman FC on Matchday Three ensured they picked up four points in three games after losing 1-0 to Dreams FC on Matchday Two.

The story has gone from good to worse as they have failed to get a single point in their last five games in the betPawa Premier league; losing to Bechem United, Hearts of Oak, King Faisal, Samartex and Medeama.

Ablade has been sacked following the poor run of results which sees Kotoku Royals bottom of the league table, five points behind 15th placed King Faisal, having scored two goals and conceded seven goals in return.

“Kotoku Royals Football Club have relieved Seth Ablade from official duties as head coach,” the club said in a statement.
