La Liga: Aubameyang scores again as Barcelona put four pass Osasuna

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continued his incredible goal scoring start to life at Barcelona with the third goal in Barcelona’s easy win over Osasuna at the Camp Nou.

The former Arsenal forward converted Ousmane Dembele’s assist just before half time taking him to five goals in his first six league games. No one has started as well since Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his first and only season at the club in 2009.

It was a gift from his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate and Dembele was the real star of the show with three assists.

The French winger, still on course to leave at the end of season, is now Barcelona’s top assist provider this season with eight passes to goal. He also set up the second goal of the game with brilliant pass through the heart of the Osasuna defence to set up Feran Torres.

The former Manchester City also got the first, from the penalty spot after Gavi had gone down in the area. The penalty decision looked harsh but there will be few complaints from Osasuna who were well beaten.

Barcelona were so dominant that Riqui Puig even climbed off the bench to score his first goal of the season. It was another Dembele assist, a low cross that he hit first time goalwards but Sergio Herrera saved.

He followed the rebound and turned the ball in at the second attempt, to score his first goal for Barça in 14 months and only his second for the club.

Barça were showboating in the last 10 minutes and two other substitutes almost combined to score. Martin Braithwaite crossed from the right and Memphis Depay went for goal with a backheeled volley that went just wide.

It was good night for Barcelona with Sergio Busquets marking his 800th game in midfield and not having to sweat too much as the team cruised to a victory that keeps them on course to make a late charge for second spot behind Real Madrid.

They are now third, just five points behind second placed Sevilla with a game in hand.

Catching Madrid looks beyond them but, on this form, they might take something from them next Sunday in the Clasico at the Bernabeu.
