LaLiga Unveils 2025-26 Calendar: El Classico Scheduled for October
The highly anticipated calendar for the 2025-26 LaLiga season has been officially announced, marking the return of thrilling football action across Spain. The season will kick off on the weekend of August 17 and conclude on May 24, 2026.
A joint presentation event with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in San Juan de la Nava (Ávila) unveiled the key fixtures for the upcoming season. Among the highlights is the first El Clasico of the season, set to take place on Matchday 10 in Madrid during the weekend of October 26, where arch-rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona will clash. The return fixture will be held on Matchday 35 in Barcelona on the weekend of May 10.
Other key matchups include the first El Derbi de Madrid, scheduled for September 28 at Atlético de Madrid’s Riyadh Air Metropolitano, with the return match on March 22 at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Seville derby, known as El Gran Derbi, will see Sevilla FC face Real Betis on November 30 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, with the return leg on March 1.
Additionally, El Derbi Vasco between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club is set for November 2 in San Sebastián, while the El Derbi de Barcelona featuring FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol de Barcelona will occur on January 4 at the RCDE Stadium, returning to the Spotify Camp Nou on April 12.
The Valencia derby between Valencia CF and Levante UD will take place on November 23 and February 15, at Mestalla and the Ciutat de València Stadium, respectively.
