Azumah Resources Seals $37m Long-Lead Equipment Deal With FLSmidth for Black Volta Gold Project
Azumah Resources Ghana Ltd has executed a major strategic equipment and technology supply agreement with global mining solutions provider FLSmidth (FLS), marking a significant milestone toward the construction of the Black Volta Gold Project in the Upper West Region.
The agreement, signed on Thursday, December 12, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra, covers the procurement of long-lead processing plant equipment valued at approximately US$37 million. Delivery of the equipment is expected in 2026 ahead of the mine’s planned start-up in 2027.

According to the company, the execution of the contract signals the formal commencement of construction and development activities toward first gold.
Azumah Resources, an indigenous Ghanaian-owned mining firm, said the partnership with FLSmidth reflects its confidence in the supplier’s more than 140 years of global mining technology expertise, equipment quality, and brand reliability.

Under the agreement, FLS will supply key processing plant components including gyratory crushers, a Raptor cone crusher, SAG and ball mills, a pre-leach thickener, screens, apron feeders, KREBS cyclones, and pumps. The package also covers absorption, desorption, refining, and detoxification equipment.
The order further includes technical support to the EPC contractor during detailed engineering, as well as on-site assistance for installation, start-up, commissioning, and operational training. Spare parts supply and a performance guarantee for the process equipment also form part of the deal.

FLSmidth, a full-flowsheet technology and service provider to the global mining sector, continues to pursue its Mission Zero sustainability ambition aimed at achieving zero emissions in mining by 2030.
Azumah Resources Ghana Ltd holds the Black Volta and Sankofa Gold Projects, both situated in the Upper West Region, with a mandate to develop the assets responsibly and deliver long-term economic and social value to Ghana.
